Abstract
L’intervento affronta il tema del ‘pellegrinaggio’ su due versanti: la storia degli studi demologici di area tedesca e la sua nuova funzione ora. L’autore rivolge una forte critica ai demologi tedeschi del Novecento per non essere riusciti a superare una prospettiva di studi fondamentalmente statica, e centrata univocamente sul “santuario”. Il suo invito è invece a guardare al pellegrinaggio da un lato quale odierno aggregarsi di individui in gruppi sociali che tendono a uno stesso fine, e dall’altra quale movimento nello spazio di gruppi provenienti da luoghi diversi e da esperienze, personali e collettive, diverse. In questa maniera la demologia può essere utile a studiare le nuove forme di “comunità” che stanno nascendo, e a gettare uno sguardo antropologico sulla stessa realtà urbana.
The present essay asserts ‘pilgrimage’ is a complex subject-matter, to be seen in the deutsche history of Volkskunde and in the new role to that plays to-day. The author critizes the whole deutsche Volkskunde because previous scholars failed to get over a static paradigm that saw pilgrimage as an event understandable only from the view of shrine. He invites to reflect that actual pilgrimages are ways many person join in a group to attain a common aim by, and therefore they have to be studied as special spatial movements where people come from different places and have different experiences. Such a perspective is a great moment pro the subject, because can be very useful to analyse the new emerging forms of “communities”, the role of religion in the socialization, and so to test the anthropological point of view in the study of city.
