Abstract
The correspondence between Giovanni Giannini (1867-1940) and Cesare Caravaglios (1893-1937) sheds light on the latter, a folk music scholar who produced a wealth of exciting projects that were tragically interrupted by his early death. Their letters also mention other scholars of the same field and some aspects of the academic environment of the time.
