Abstract
Due racconti di vita, due terreni etnografici. Queste due voci femminili sono state guide ermeneutiche alla conoscenza dei territori di confine tra Francia ed Italia nel secolo degli Stati nazione e di due guerre mondiali. Registrati nel contesto di terreni etnografici valorizzati attraverso allestimenti museografici, i due racconti tracciano percorsi attraverso la costruzione della frontiera, la fortificazione e militarizzazione delle Alpi, raccontando l’appartenenza delle due donne al «mondo misto» delle città frontiera nel periodo racchiuso tra le due guerre mondiali. Emma Fillol Del Vecchio e Ines Gerardo Montaz raccontano la frontiera come luogo di lavoro e mobilità in una valle effervescente, nel pieno sviluppo della stazione internazionale di Modane, e con la guerra, la fine di quel mondo, le oscillazioni e ambiguità dei sentimenti di appartenenza, il legame con la montagna e i paesaggi di confine di un novecento che si allontana.
Two life stories and two ethnographical fields. These two women voices have been hermeneutical guides to the borderlands between France and Italy in 1900, the century of nation-states and the world wars. Listened to and recorded in the context of ethnographical fields aimed at museological presentations, the two stories trace the paths through the fortification, the militarisation of the Alps and the construction of the frontier, telling the belonging of the two women to the «mixed world» of the frontier town in the period between the two world wars. Emma Fillol Del Vecchio and Ines Gerardo Montaz represent the borderland as a place of work, mobility and dynamism, during the full development of the local economy linked to the international train station of Modane. With the war, memories convey the end of that world, the changing and ambiguity of the sense of belonging, the link to the mountains, and the border landscapes of the twentieth century that walks away.
