Abstract
A partire dalla metà del XIX secolo, gli stati-nazione hanno preteso di classificare e identificare con certezza i cittadini. Con quali conseguenze? Cosa ci rivelano i dispositivi di identificazione sul riconoscimento? E come si stanno trasformando tali dispositivi oggi? Sono queste le domande affrontate nel presente testo, il quale, a partire da Michel Foucault, offre un contributo alla riflessione teorica sul sapere-potere, inteso come la produzione, l’organizzazione e gli effetti della conoscenza relativa ai tipi umani.
In the second half of the 19th century, the European nation states enhanced forms of citizen identification and classification. What consequences did this increased demand generate? What light does it shed on our ways of recognizing human beings? And how are they changing today? These are the questions addressed in this paper, which, relying on Michel Foucault, offers a theoretical reflection on the status and on the effects of power-knowledge.
