Abstract
Il presente saggio intende offrire un bilancio critico introduttivo delle ricerche condotte da Clifford Geertz in Marocco. Attraverso la presentazione e l’approfondimento dei testi prodotti dall’autore e la ricostruzione delle loro principali valutazioni in campo accademico, si tenta di mostrare quanto e in che modo il ‘laboratorio marocchino’ sia stato centrale nello sviluppo dell’antropologia interpretativa geertziana. Sulla base dell’analisi dialogica delle fonti prese in esame, il lettore verrà guidato nell’esplorazione della ‘svolta riflessiva’ dell’autore, costituente la fase conclusiva non soltanto della riflessione in/sul Marocco, ma della sua intera sperimentazione teorico-epistemologica.
This article attempts an introductory critical summary on the research conducted by Clifford Geertz in Morocco, through the presentation and the investigation of the texts written by the author and through the reconstruction of the main critical assessments developed by scholars. The purpose is to show how and how much the “moroccan laboratory” has been crucial for the construction and the development of Geertz’s interpretive anthropology tout court. Lastly, in the light of the dialogical analysis of the sources taken into consideration, the aim is to lead the reader towards the exploration of Geertzian “reflexive turn” which constitutes the final phase not only of the reflection in/on Morocco, but of his entire theoretical epistemological experimentation.
